My sister in law Amy and I were 4 weeks apart in our pregnancy. It was so fun being pregnant together and having someone to share all the "pains" of pregnancy with. Jason and I are so close with Amy and her husband Caleb. We have had A LOT of adventures together over the past 4 years and now it will be fun to watch our sons have their own adventures together. I'm sure being only18 days apart and only 10 minutes down the road they will think they are brothers and not cousins. Hudson was born on May 27th and we couldn't wait to get down there and meet him!

Man's Best Friend
Balboa is our Yorkie that was our baby until May 9th. We got him for Jason's birthday 3 years ago and since then he has been our pride and joy. He has slept with us every night since he has been potty trained. When we brought Keifer home it was a huge adjustment for him and I don't think he was Keifer's number one fan. I think he is finally coming around now and realizing Keifer isn't going anywhere so he might as well become friends.
Two Week Stats
We had a hard time finding a pediatrician for Keifer. We have chosen not to vaccinate and apparently most doctors are not a fan of that. However my sister in law Amy told me about her pediatrician Jill Breeze in Sherman. They chose not to vaccinate as well and she told us Dr. Breeze was ok with parent's choice. So we called and scheduled his two week appointment on May 23, 2011. We loved Dr. Breeze, she was so nice and made me feel extremely comfortable. She did his check up and said he was a healthy beautiful baby, which of course was great news! When Keifer was born his head measured 13 1/4 and had grown to 13 3/4 putting him in the 11th percentile for his head. His height was 19 1/2 at birth and had grown to 19 3/4 putting him in the 24th percentile for height. Last thing they checked for was his weight. When he was born he was 6 lbs. 1.5 oz and when we took him back three days later for his checkup he dropped to 5 lbs. 10oz. That didn't last long he just grew from there. He weighed in at 6 lbs. 11.5 oz. putting him in the 9th percentile of weight. Which is still very small since the chart for these measurements are 1-100. When I took him back to the Allen Birthing Center at 3 weeks for his heel prick and hearing test he weighed in at 7 lbs. 10 oz. Our little boy is getting so big!!!
Lights Camera Action
Mike and Melissa Earnhart are good family friends of the Schilli family. Another blessing to have in our lives. They own Michaels Photography in Denison and they do the best work ever!!! They did our wedding, family photos, pictures for mine and Jason's business cards, and our maternity pictures. So it only made since that they would do Keifer's first photo shoot. At two weeks and one day old we took Keifer to the studio and got pictures done to send out birth announcements. All of the pictures turned out so good and were adorable so it was hard to narrow down the pictures from 93 but here are just a few.
Rub a Dub Dub Keifer in a Tub
I've heard most babies don't like bath time so Jason and I were surprised when Keifer LOVED his first bath! He never cried, I think it brought back memories of the womb.
Finding my thumb!!!
Keifer always sucks on his hand so one night Daddy taught Keifer to find his thumb since his fist wouldn't fit in his mouth. He seemed to love sucking his thumb and started doing it quite often....
Preemie
When Keifer was 8 days late I thought for sure he was going to outgrow newborn clothes within the first week of his little life. So I was extremely surprised when I got him home to find out that none of his clothes fit and that I had to go buy him size preemie! I loved that he was so small and cute but unfortunately there are VERY limited preemie clothes. Luckily he only had to wear size preemie for two weeks before he was in newborn. Thanks to his NayNay he had enough outfits to get him through those two weeks.
