Nifty Nifty Nay Nays Fifty!!!

Today was my Mom's 50th Birthday! Trinity and I had a whole day planned for her. We started with morning pedicures and lunch at The Durning House. I have never been able to get both Keifer & myself dressed and out of the house before 12:30 except for Sundays for church when Jason is here to help. So needless to say being out of the house by 10:15 was going to be a stretch. My plan was when Keifer woke up for his 6:30 or 7:00 feeding I would put him back down and get dressed until he got back up at 9:00. However my plan did not work. This was the first night Keifer slept through his morning feeding and didn't wake up until 8:40!!! I couldn't have been happier to sleep in and I was so happy that he slept 20 minutes shy of his 9-9 goal. However this was not the morning to do that. I only had a hour and a half to feed him, get him bathed, dressed, and myself dressed. Let me just say we set a world record today and was in the car by 10:10 and we were off for our day.....

Keifer slept all through our pedicures which was nice, he wasn't too interested in girls day at the salon.

Afterward my Dad met up with us for lunch which Keifer was awake for and happy to be there. Next on the agenda was an afternoon fun of sun and swimming. Unfortunately Keifer and I couldn't attend because it was way too hot for him to be outside so I sent Mom, Trinity, and LaDonna off to Ann's house for some tanning time. Keifer and I came home and got ready for the dinner party. Decorations were up and cake was delivered.

Dad came over while the girls were gone to start dinner. Menu was shrimp, steak, chicken, baked potatoes, steamed broccoli, zucchini and squash

Once again Keifer slept through his second birthday party that he attended so we had to take family pictures without him unitl he woke up for just a few pictures.

We had a great day and hope Mom did too!

Yankie Doodle Sweetheart

Last 4th of July I remember saying to myself I absolutely want a baby by next 4th of July. So I was very excited this year that I got to spend it with Keifer! This year Independence day fell on a Monday so we just had a nice relaxing day and then went over to my parent's house at 4:30pm. My parents moved to Howe just a few months ago so this was going to be our first July 4th in the new house. It was very weird not to be out in Princeton with all the fireworks but we had fun and look forward to starting new memories.

My Mom's friends Ann and Kyle were there and LaDonna had 4 of her friends over. Dad made his amazing BBQ for dinner then we just hung out until it was dark enough for fireworks. I wasn't able to get pictures of Keifer looking at fireworks this time because it was too dark but he enjoyed them just as much as Saturday night.

Matching outfits

For my sister in law, Amy's baby shower I bought her a outfit for Hudson to wear on the 4th of July. I bought Keifer a matching outfit. Hudson had a red onesie and Keifer had a blue onesie. They both had matching shorts and hat. I bought them in size 0-3 months, however I didn't know that at almost 2 months old Keifer would still be in newborn.

This morning before church (being the 3rd of July) Amy text me and asked me put Keifer in his outfit so they could match. I tried on his outfit and it was not even close to fitting him. So 15 minutes before we had to leave I put it in the dryer on high heat to try and shrink it some. His outfit was still very big but he still looked adorable. Every Sunday after church we all go to lunch together. This Sunday we chose Olive Garden. We had a nice lunch but we couldn't leave without getting pictures of the boys!

Kaboom!!!!

This Saturday Van Alstyne was putting on a firework show at 9:00pm Jason and I made a snap decision at 8:30pm to go. So I called my sisters to join us. I was a little worried about mosquitoes getting him outside and the sound being to loud for him. Luckily he was fine, no bug bites and he didn't even flinch at the sound. I was pretty surprised that he just watched them in amazement. I shouldn't have been since he loves to stare at lights and fans. I was so proud of him for being so good and I LOVED watching him see fireworks for the first time. It truly is a blessing to watch your child experience something for the first time.

Here are some pictures of what he was looking at....

The camera had a hard time focusing on us with the fireworks behind us but Jason did a good job getting this memorable picture of Keifer and I

Through the eyes of a child! I can't remember the last time I looked at fireworks like this...

Keifers moving out....

Keifer has been sleeping through the night for almost three weeks now so there was really no more need for him to be in our room. He eats at 9:00 then is down by 9:30. He sleeps soundless until 3:00 in the morning, He starts to grunt, snore and moan. I would get up almost every 30 minutes to check on him to find he is just asleep and making noise. Since he was sleeping through the night it was time for Jason and I to start sleeping through the night. So on June 29th we tried it out of putting him in his own room. Jason couldn't be happier, he wanted to move him in his room two weeks ago. I kept saying no he is not ready yet but the truth was momma was not ready! He has been growing so fast and that was just one step closer to him growing up.

I fed him at 9:00, changed his diaper, put on his pajamas, and brushed his teeth. The time had come... I laid him in his bed and all he did was laugh and smile! I turned on his sound machine and his light mobile that shines on the ceiling. I think he liked his room better than ours. He just stared at his mobile captivated! I left the room and he fell asleep on his own.

Keifer staring at his mobile

After I came back into my room I just stared at the monitor watching him. I cried harder than he has ever cried. I told Jason I don't want him to think we don't want him anymore. Jason tried to calm me down, it worked. I stopped crying and went to bed. I think it was still pregnancy hormones. : )  I wish I could tell you I enjoyed the sleep but I still woke up looking at the monitor in case I didn't hear him. He woke up at 6:30 in the morning to eat. After he ate he went back to sleep unitl 9:00 that morning. I missed him so I brought him back in bed with me from 7-9  : )  He has been in his own bed for 4 nights now and I have slept better.

Party Time

Keifer got invited to his first birthday party! His cousin Savannah turned 2 years old and he went to her Curious George themed birthday party. My sister in law Amy did such a good job of putting together a fun party for the kids. She had little pools for the kids to play in and grilled hamburgers and hot dogs. The party was Saturday June 25th from 11:00-1:00 Keifer slept through most of the party but woke up the last 45 minutes to take some pictures with his cousins and get his party favors, (Curious George book, stickers, and bubbles)
